this post is for you, mama.

So, Mom, here’s the big picture: you walk in, and immediately see my bed & desk.

Since we’re looking at my clutter desk first, Mama, let me go ahead and put this disclaimer out there: I’m still trying to figure out what to do with all of the stuff Lena left behind in her room.  I promise I’ll eventually get around to it.  Up in the corner of the desk is the picture of all of us the last time we were in Clinton together…all of us!

And you know that my room wouldn’t really be my room without a little artwork and pictures.  Here’s a closeup of the desk and the artwork (I use that term loosely) above my bedside table.

You also know that it wouldn’t by my room without at least a couple of coffee mugs sprinkled like fairy dust all around the room.  I thought you’d really believe this was my room after my providing the evidence.

Oh, THERE you are!  And thus ends the tour of my room…mainly because the other half is just too beautiful to capture on camera.

(or that it’s just too cluttered, but whatever.)

UPDATE: Mama, I just showed this picture to Vaishali, our house helper.  She looked at it, looked at me, and asked, “Is that your mom?”  and when I told her yes, she said, “Ohhh, your mother is so pretty, she’s a fox.

Okay, maybe she didn’t exactly say it like that in Hindi, but I know that if she knew English, that’s exactly what she would have said.
